Does it work for non-native English speakers?

Yes, our experience shows that it works quite well. It is necessary to articulate words more precisely than usual. However, with a reasonable consistent accent and with some training it works well.

How fast can you speak as a non-native speaker?

It really depends on your accent and your articulation. Dragon reports 150 words a minute with more than 99% accuracy. Our experience tells us that we are able to obtain a rate of about 100 words a minute with about 96 to 98 percent correct words. When corrections are included this leaves us with a rate of 50 to 60 words a minute. This is on par with a professional typist.

Is there a Danish version of Dragon Dictate or NaturallySpeaking?

No, not yet. A Swedish version of Dragon Dictate exists. We do not currently know of a time frame for a Danish version.

What are the main benefits of using the Dragon products?

You can achieve complete hands free interaction with the computer. However, a combination of mouse, keyboard and voice interaction is probably more effective. But that entirely depends on your physical conditions. If you suffer from RSI or other handicaps this type of products might be the only way to a professional working life.

Spelling is not an issue. The main problem is now to recognize when a word has been misinterpreted.

You can work in different working positions. You can work standing, sitting or whatever you like, as long as you can see the screen or hear the text read aloud at some point in time. You can even dictate into a tape recorder for later recognition.

For quite a few people dictating is actually faster than writing. For some people talking is easier than writing through a keyboard.

Finally your spoken English might improve.

Do I speak the same way as I usually do?

Yes, if you use Dragon NaturallySpeaking you pretty much speak as you usually do. Dragon NaturallySpeaking recognizes continuous speech as opposed to DragonDictate where you have to pause between words. With Dragon NaturallySpeaking recognition actually gets better when you dictate more words continuously than if you dictate one word at a time.

Should I select U.S. or UK edition?

Unless you know that your English is very close to US English we recommend that you use the UK edition. Most Danish people learn UK English in school, and although we are heavily influenced by English heard on the television or radio, which is primarily U.S. English, usually the English pronouncacion of a Dane is closer to UK than US English.

How do I get a headset?

You basically don't need to buy headset because it is included in the product. However, you can buy headsets separately through us if you want to. We offer some higher quality headsets than provided with the product.
